Coaching the Workplace Within :: Frequently Asked Questions

Click on a question to reveal the answer.

Q: What do you do in a typical program?

A: Our programs aren’t typical. In fact, coaching the workplace within is really a ‘process’ sold as a ‘program’ to minimize feelings of anxiety and uncertainty by the client or client organization and sometimes even the coach. The 'real' work is often uncharted and uncomfortable and is more about trusting a process of prospecting and discovering than about being ‘programmed.’ What is programmed or contracted is the duration of a typical program which ranges from three to twelve months and the number of face-to-face or telephone conferences which are typically 2-4 per month.

Q: What does it cost?

A: An investment in coaching is almost exclusively paid for by the client’s organization. Pricing ranges, based on the program’s design typically from $500 to $5000/month. All engagements are priced as monthly retainers and include the 2-4 sessions per month, preparation and follow-up time for the coach, and phone consultations as needed.

Q: How can I trust my work will be held in confidence when my organization is paying the bill?

A: A breach of trust is harmful to everyone. We’ve been in business for over twenty-five years with 80% of our new business coming from past and current clients. We respect and trust ourselves. Integrity is essential to our continued success. Trust is something that is developed. We have faith that in a very short period of time, you will experience our trustworthiness.

Q: What would you say are the most important elements to ensuring a successful coaching relationship?

A: Coaching is a personal assessment and exploration of possibilities for making desired changes. Candor, caring and confidentiality on the part of all parties is important for a successful coaching relationship.

Q: How will I know if it's working?

A: You will feel discomfort, find yourself questioning your behaviors, and begin to see new possibilities for your role, your work, and even possibly your life.

Q: How will others in my organization know if it's working?

A: By the way you think, act and feel.

Q: What is a 'co-coach?'

A: We expect our coaches to work within their skill set, and we want to provide you what you need to be more effective. If an issue is discovered which falls outside your coaches’ training then a discussion will take place with you to determine if an appropriately trained ‘co-coach’ will be beneficial. If everyone agrees, the work will proceed supported by your co-coaching team.

Q: What are the credentials of your coaches?

A: All of our coaches offer a savvy blend of business experience and advanced degrees in both business and psychology. They are skilled at developing trust, identifying the issues, holding confidences and achieving results.

Q: Who are some of your clients I could talk to about how this all works?

A: Please ask and we will provide references.
